Rap artist Rod Wave has expanded his business interests into college basketball management. The Mainstay Sports Agency officially announced on Wednesday that it has signed Arkansas true freshman Abdou Toure.
Green, known professionally as Rod Wave, stated that his agency team first flagged Toure for his attention. Green reviewed the guard's high school highlight reel and reached out to the player shortly after. The two parties have now formalized their working relationship.
"I believe he's a superstar talent, and a superstar person," Green said in a statement. He added that the mutual trust between him and Toure is a key factor in the partnership.
Toure, a native of West Haven, Connecticut, played his high school career at Notre Dame High School. He finished the 2026 recruiting cycle ranked No. 16 in the SCNext 100 class and No. 6 among small forwards. During his final summer season with the BABC (MA) AAU program, he averaged 15.4 points and 5.1 rebounds per game.
Toure said the decision to sign with Green was straightforward. He noted that Green was transparent from their initial contact and valued the concept of family trust. "He was honest from Day 1 with me," Toure said. "He also understood the family and trust part, which is extremely important to me."
Green sees parallels between his own career path and Toure's playing style. He described the guard as a leader who does not need to be the loudest voice in the room. "On the court he's a dog, though," Green said. "He always seems to let the game come to him, but he knows when it's time to make the big play and he's not scared to."
Toure committed to the Arkansas Razorbacks in October 2025. He cited head coach John Calipari's track record as the primary reason he chose Fayetteville. The team will begin its regular season schedule against Arkansas-Pine Bluff on Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET on the SEC Network+.
