Dream Face Elimination Thursday Against Valkyries

The Atlanta Dream play a must-win game Thursday against the Golden State Valkyries in Game 6 of the WNBA Finals. Tip-off is set for 12:30 p.m. at State Farm Arena. A Dream victory forces a Game 7. A loss ends their season.

Players said they plan to set the tone early and execute their game plan. One player described the situation plainly: "We know our backs are against the wall. It's win or go home."

The game falls during the workday, and city officials have responded. Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens called on local businesses and teachers to give employees and students flexibility to watch the matchup. The City of College Park is hosting watch parties at four locations: Tom, Dick & Hank on Main Street, Champions at Atlanta Airport Marriott, Zubi's Taco Kitchen & Bar on Virginia Avenue, and Donya's Kitchen on Roosevelt Highway. City officials plan to greet fans at each site. The Destination Must Visit Tourism Alliance is presenting the events.

Golden State leads the series and can close it out Thursday. The Dream dropped Game 5 in the finals and now face a win-or-exit scenario on their home court.
