Lakers fans in Inglewood witnessed a comfortable victory as their team defeated the Clippers 103-87 on Wednesday evening. The outcome marked the second time in the current week that the Lakers have defeated their cross-town rivals.

Star point guard Luka Doncic sat out the contest due to stiffness in his back. He averaged 36 points per game entering the match, the highest total in the league. Starting small forward Ziaire Williams also missed the game with left foot pain. Coach JJ Redick stated that both absences were precautionary measures.

Despite the absence of their top scorer, six Lakers players recorded double-digit point totals. Quentin Grimes led the offense with 23 points. Collin Sexton contributed 21 points off the bench, which is his personal season high. Austin Reaves finished with 16 points while Matisse Thybulle added 15. Both Sexton and Thybulle made four three-pointers each.

The Clippers, who are now 1-3 on the season, suffered their third consecutive loss. Rookie Keaton Wagler led the team with a career-high 21 points from the bench. They had lost to the Lakers by eight points on Friday. Starting small forward Rui Hachimura did not play due to left quadriceps stiffness.

The Lakers have a 4-1 record this season. This was the first time they played consecutive games this campaign. The Clippers had also lost the previous night, completing a two-game losing streak that extends to three games total.
