A Whatcom County judge reduced bail to $100,000 on October 26 for David Henry Jackson Jr., a 57-year-old charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree assault. The reduction follows a request from prosecutors for $150,000 and a defense motion for release on personal recognizance.

The court found probable cause to detain Jackson based on an incident on October 22 in the 4900 block of Aldrich Road. During that event, a man was assaulted and his vehicle was taken during a test drive arranged via an online classified advertisement. WCSO deputies arrested Jackson and his wife, Blanca Estella Jackson, 58, at their Hertel Way residence on October 25.

Blanca Jackson appeared separately in court on October 26. The judge informed her of the charges and found probable cause for detention, determining she did not qualify for court-appointed counsel. The court ordered her to surrender all firearms, other weapons, and concealed pistol licenses to the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office immediately.

Both defendants received no-contact orders regarding the victim. For David Jackson, the court added a pre-trial condition prohibiting the possession of weapons. A compliance review hearing for Blanca Jackson is scheduled for November 19.

Court filings show that a $10,000 bail deposit was recorded for Blanca Jackson on October 26. A notice of release was filed for David Jackson on October 27 after Blanca Jackson posted $10,000 in cash bail.
