Lido Marina Village in Newport Beach will hold a free public event on Thursday, Oct. 29, to commemorate the tenth anniversary of its revitalization. The celebration, titled A Decade Dockside, is scheduled from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. and will feature music, beverage tastings, and exclusive shopping discounts across the waterfront district.

The area now hosts upscale dining establishments such as Nobu and independent retailers like Lido Village Books. Before its transformation, the site was largely empty during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Michelle St. Amour, director of marketing for the village, described that earlier period as a time when the location had lost its appeal, with only a handful of restaurants and an insurance company office remaining.

DJM Capital Partners took over the property in 2014 with a plan to preserve its existing structure rather than demolish it. Renovations were completed in 2016, retaining the site's European architectural character. The property is now owned by Redwood West. Over the past decade, the brick-paved streets have become a destination for local dining, shopping, and social events.

Participating storefronts will join the anniversary festivities by offering special services and treats. TReSs Apothecary + Salon, the first new tenant signed under the new ownership, will host clients for complimentary consultations and product sampling. Tera Stephens, owner of TReSs, noted that the salon is preparing for its 11th year in the village and is excited to celebrate alongside the community.

St. Amour expressed gratitude to residents who have supported the village over the last decade, including families bringing grandchildren and couples on dates. She acknowledged the ongoing presence of holiday traditions, such as the annual Santa visit, which continue to draw visitors to the area.

Those who cannot attend the Thursday evening event can view other scheduled activities on the village website. Upcoming plans include pumpkin carving at Malibu Farm on Halloween, meetings with Santa Claus throughout December, and free live music performances.
