TTM Technologies shares climbed 9.5 percent to close the midday session at $87.72 on Monday, October 26. The Santa Ana based manufacturer of printed circuit boards saw its market capitalization rise to $9.2 billion following the increase.
The gain marks a continuation of a recovery that began on Friday. Investors had punished the stock on Thursday when it dropped 27 percent despite the company reporting record earnings for the third quarter. The initial sell off reflected concerns over slower than expected sales in the data center sector and rising debt levels.
On October 19, TTM Technologies announced it would acquire the Ophir Optics business from MKS Inc. for approximately $650 million. The deal targets a maker of infrared thermal imaging and laser optics solutions. Prior to that announcement, the company disclosed plans for a $400 million expansion of manufacturing capacity in China and Malaysia.
TTM Technologies reported record third quarter revenue of $1.2 billion on October 23. That figure represented a 60 percent increase year over year. Management attributed the shortfall in data center sales to customer project timing rather than weakening overall demand. The company also noted that fourth quarter guidance and acquisition related spending contributed to the initial market reaction.
On the same day, Bimergen Energy Corp. fell 9.6 percent to $1.67 per share, reducing its market cap to $12 million. The Newport Beach based firm filed an application with the Public Utility Commission of Texas on Monday. The company stated in the filing that it intends to supply electricity directly to qualifying data center customers in Texas through its subsidiary, Emergen Commodities LLC.
EACO Corp. shares dropped 17 percent to $103.55 during midday trading on Monday. The Anaheim based distributor of electronic components and fasteners, which operates as Bisco Industries, now has a market cap of $503 million. The stock is down 30 percent from its 52 week high of $135 recorded in September.
Five Point Holdings LLC, an Irvine based real estate company, fell nearly 8 percent to $4.14 per share on October 23. The company cut its 2026 net income forecast from $100 million to $20 million. Five Point cited weakening housing demand as a primary factor and said it plans to defer certain land sales to avoid a less favorable market.
Staar Surgical Co. shares rose 4 percent to $22.52 on October 22, giving the Lake Forest based maker of implantable eye lenses a market cap of $1.1 billion. The company is scheduled to report third quarter results on November 4 after the market closes. Analysts currently expect revenue of $78.74 million for the period.
Chipotle Mexican Grill shares dropped 4.5 percent to $28.35 on October 21. Analysts downgraded the Newport Beach fast casual chain to Hold from Buy, citing weak sales at the start of the fourth quarter. El Pollo Loco shares fell 4 percent to $15 the same day, with the Costa Mesa chain trading at 81 percent below its average daily volume.
