Biloxi fans in Gulfport, Mississippi, watched their team secure a late-season victory on Friday, October 30. The Indians defeated the West Harrison Hurricanes 38-22. This result ended the Hurricanes' season and their chase for the first playoff berth in their program history.
The game remained competitive through the first two quarters. Both teams were tied at seven points late in the second quarter. Marquez Metcalfe broke the deadlock for Biloxi. He took the snap and ran untouched into the end zone. The extra point gave the Indians a 14-7 lead before the halftime break.
West Harrison attempted to respond with a strong offensive drive. Austin McInnis gained a first down on a run. However, the Hurricanes could not sustain the momentum. Their offense stalled, forcing a punt that put the ball back in Biloxi hands.
Biloxi took over at their own 13-yard line and moved down the field quickly. Quarterback Jalen Ramsey connected with Davie Griffin on an out route. Griffin gained extra yardage before stepping out of bounds. A late-hit penalty against West Harrison added 15 yards to the play. Ramsey then held the ball in the pocket and delivered a touchdown pass to Griffin in the back of the end zone. That score extended the Biloxi lead to 21-7 at halftime.
The Indians maintained their lead for the remainder of the game. They closed out the contest with a final score of 38-22. The win provides Biloxi with a strong finish to the season. For West Harrison, the loss marks the end of their historical pursuit.
