Walmart Holiday Meal: $35 for a Table of Ten

Walmart shoppers can now buy a complete Thanksgiving dinner for $35. The price covers a basket that feeds ten people, setting the per-person cost at $3.50. This reduction follows internal surveys showing that customers are prioritizing lower prices for holiday food.

The new basket contains 26 items sourced from 17 distinct products. Walmart states the package is 18% larger in volume than the previous year’s offering. The total cost is also 12% lower than the price shoppers paid for the same items in the prior season. The company describes this as the lowest priced one-click basket in the program’s history.

The kit is available in stores and online until December 24. Walmart offers free express delivery for the basket through November 30. This timing coincides with rising grocery costs. The CBS News Price Tracker reported a 2.5% increase in food prices through September 2026. Federal Reserve data indicates that home food costs have risen more than 30% since 2020.

The inventory mixes private label Great Value goods with national brands. Traditional staples include JIFFY Corn Muffin Mix and Great Value Golden Sweet Whole Kernel Corn. Vegetable options consist of canned green beans, a 5 lb bag of russet potatoes, and three fresh sweet potatoes. A 12 oz bag of fresh cranberries rounds out the produce section.

Gravy and topping items include Campbell’s Condensed Cream of Mushroom Soup and Great Value Brown Gravy Mix. The basket also holds a 6 oz bag of Great Value French Fried Onions Salad Topping. Stove Top Stuffing Mix is included in two 6 oz boxes for the main side dish. Great Value Brown and Serve Rolls provide the bread component.

Dessert and baking supplies feature two 9-inch pie crusts and pans. Shoppers also receive Great Value 100% Pure Pumpkin, Evaporated Milk, and Whipped Topping. A 10 oz bag of Jet-Puffed Mini Marshmallows accompanies the sweet potato dish. These items support the preparation of pies and other holiday desserts.

The centerpiece is a Butterball Frozen Whole Turkey. The all-natural bird weighs between 10 and 16 lbs. It is sized to serve between seven and 11 people. The turkey anchors the meal plan for the holiday weekend.
